Wrongful Termination?

What is the name of your state? Michigan

I have am working at a local restaurant in Michigan. I recently told them that I plan to head back to a local university in the fall of this year, and I asked if they would work with me regarding scheduling. Their response was "We'll talk about it, come see me in a couple months."

I was wondering if it would be wrongful termination or illegal in anyway if they were to lay me off/fire me whatever because of lessened availability.
Also, is it illegal to limit my hours to the point that I would have to quit and or find another job because of this practice?
I tried the UIA office online, and a couple other Michigan workers rights sites but only found that Michigan was an at will employment state.

Any info would be helpful,
Thank you

No, it would not be illegal in any way, shape or form to fire you because of your lack of availability. Nor would it be in any way illegal to limit your hours for that reason. They have no legal obligation to work around your school schedule.
