My wife works as a nurses aide. She rarely calls in sick but one recent night she called in sick for her 10pm-6am shift. She was told by the administrator if she didn't come in, she would be terminated. My wife stated she was ill and the administrator replied "Everyone seems to be sick today due to the snow storm".
We did receive 6 inches of snow that day but she was calling in sick, not because of the snow.
Can a company get away with threatening someone's career because of a rare call out?
