What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? california,
I am a physician in California with an excellent employment record with my current employer. I am scheduled to leave this job on July 31, ( My employer is aware) and will begin another position with a different employer 2 months later in another state.

I have a feeling that I will be laid off one month before my actual separation leave date due to "budget cuts" .

Is this legal?. would this qualify as wrongful termination?
Thank you DR XWhat is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?

Is this legal? Yes. If they need to cut staff, it probably makes sense to terminate someone who's already planning on leaving in four weeks time.

. would this qualify as wrongful termination? Not even close.
