I LIVE IN NORTH CAROLINA AND HAVE WORKED FOR THE SAME DEALERSHIP FOR 2 YEARS 9 MONTHS. I AM SEVEN MONTHS PREGNANT WITH MY SECOND CHILD. THE MATERNITY PLAN HAD BEEN THAT MY JOB WOULD BE DIVIDED BETWEEN THE OTHER GIRLS IN THE OFFICE WHILE I WAS ON LEAVE JUST AS IT HAD WITH TWO PREVIOUS WORKERS WHO HAD BABIES.(THEY RETURNED ONLY TO BE FIRED) TWO WEEKS AGO AT OUR MONTHLY MEETING I WAS INFORMED THAT THEY HAD HIRED A REPLACEMENT FOR ME TO WORK WHILE I WAS ON LEAVE. THE NEXT DAY I WAS TERMINATED FOR FAILURE TO FOLLOW POLICY. THIS WAS A POLICY THAT HAD NOT PREVIOUSLY BEEN ENFORCED WITH OTHER EMPLOYEES BUT IT WAS STATED AS MY TERMINATION REASON. THE PERSON THAT THEY HIRED TO TAKE MY JOB WAS COMING IN TWO MONTHS BEFORE I WAS DUE TO GO ON MATERNITY LEAVE AND WAS ALSO WORKING FOR A LOWER PAY RATE THAN I WAS. I WAS ONE OF THE TOP PAID EMPLOYEES. DO I HAVE A DISCRIMINATION CASE SINCE IT SEEMS ODD THAT THEY DID NOT FOLLOW PROCEDURE ON DIVIDING MY WORK AND THAT THIS EMPLOYEE WAS HIRED TO COME IN BEFORE I WAS DUE TO LEAVE. ALSO THAT THE POLICY THEY SAY I DIDN'T FOLLOW HAS NOT BEEN ENFORCED PREVIOUSLY.
