Wrongful termination-poor work performance

After receiving a "satisfactory" job performance review on Monday 9-12, I was escorted off the grounds on Tuesday 9-13, without being given a reason. On Wednesday 9-14, I received a phone call from the president of the company, stating I had been removed for an argument with my manager. On Thursday 9-15, I met with the HR manager, who again cited this incident, which happened over a month ago. On Monday 9-19 I met again with the HR manager, who informed me I was terminated, citing "poor job recent performance". Not only do I have the best work history in the department, I was also 2004 Employee of the Year! I have some documentation supporting my work history; however, the majority of my files were in my desk in my office and I was not allowed to take them with me. I understand Ohio is an "at-will" employment state, but how can this be? There are two other Engineers in my department, and their work records are much worse than my own, yet they went to work today. I am frustrated with what this big-industry company has done to me, and after speaking with several other managers, many production employees who I worked closely with, and several supervisors, (as well as one of the other Engineers) they are all in agreement that this is BS, and there is a major uproar in the company with regards to my removal. My position was originally a Union position, but was made salaried in February of this year. In my signed job offer, it states that after a performance review (that was supposed to happen in June) the determination would be made as to whether I would remain salaried or be allowed to return to a bargaining-unit production position. This was not even offered to me in my exit interview. Do I have any recourse I can take?
