What is the name of your state? Illinois

My friend took a new job doing accounting / general computer/ office work. After 2 1/2 weeks on the job, she slipped and fell on her way home and broke her arm. She had a cast put on, but otherwise is mobile and able to work. She just found out from her employer that she was terminated because they said that she would be unable to do filing and use the computer while she is in a cast. However, they said that once she got the cast off and that her position wasn't filled, they would rehire her.

Does she have a case for wrongful termination?

No. Additionally, since she'd only been there for several weeks, she wasn't eligible for any statutory leave time either.

Not only does she NOT have a case for wrongful termination, if her employer is willing to hire her back after the cast comes off they're being nicer to her than they are required to be. They have no legal obligation to hold the job of an employee who's only been on the job 2 1/2 weeks and who is unable to do part or all of her job because of a temporary injury, and they have no legal obligation to return her to work.
