What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? NY
I had a sewer leak in my basement which is a common pipe running thru 8 units. Because of the leak the paneling was removed and three holes were cut in the drywall to access the leak. The condo repaired the leak and paid servpro to clean up but servpro had to cut up a portion of the carpet . With my homeowners policy insurance I have a 500.00 deductable and would risk a rate hike if I put in a claim. Would the condo association be responsible for the deductable or any other damage related to the leak of the common pipe? Declaration says condo is resposible for outside of sheetrock.
