What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? NY
My tree came down during the storm and landed on one neighbors fence damaging it, and on another neighbors shed, no apparent damage. Who is responsilbe for removing the tree? I did not sustain any damage, do I still need to file a claim with my insurance company?

Here I am thinking New York is a negligence state regarding trees.

What did the OP do which was negligent?

Of course, the OP could be responsible. But, absent actual or constructive knowledge the tree was dangerous in some way, I would not think a person could sue the OP successfully simply because his tree fell in any normal time.

In a hurricane? God has more responsibility than I'm seeing in the OP.
