Home Insurance checkWhat is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? CA Found out I had a slab leak one morning and contacted a plumber and insurance company. The adjuster told me that because there was no visible damage and that they did not cover a slab leak that there was no claim. She contacted the plumber and asked him how much it would cost to break through the concrete slab for inspection. She said she would send me a check for that amount to do what I want with, break through the slab or reroute the pipe. Check received and it was only in mine and my wifes name, no mortgage company under PAYABLE TO. I found a plumber who would do the reroute for less than the amount on the check. What do I do with the extra money? Send it back?? |

| You don't have to send it back. IMO, you should save it in case the cheaper repair doesn't end up working and you need to go back and do more repairs in the future.
