homeowners insurance

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Florida

I have been without homeowners insurance for two years till i recently received a letter from my mortgage company stateing that after a review of my account it has come to there attention and i have 30 days to get insurance or they will get for me. well i got the insurance on my own but now they want to charge me for the two years of insurance i didnt have is this legal?

Of course it's legal. And, by the way, if you read your mortgage, you agreed to it.
