What is the name of your state (california)?

Okay, where i live there was some roofing being done and before the weekend ended it rained and water came through the ceiling and damaged personal property. The roofers are paying for houses physical damage but the insurence agent says "I need supporting documentation such as receipts cancelled check, etc. showing ownership. I need identification on these items, what kind of desktop, stereo boombox, etc. Where and when purchased? How many and what kind of books." but I dont have receipts or canceled checks. I still have the damaged goods but how do I get them to pay for what was damaged without receipts or canceled checks?

If you have a before picture of the property in the place, it would likely establish ownership? As far as the value of it, you should place a value on the property (not as new, but in the condition it was in).
