Proving contents after theft from deceased

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? New Hampshire My mother passed away and all her possessions were stolen .I made claim through her renters policy. She had a replacement cost policy from Liberty Mutual.they denied the claim because they said I couldn't prove what she had because I did not live there. They also will not provide a copy of the policy .She had a 20,000 plus policy .When I lived with her over 20 years before I know what she had but I never saw anything in this apartment but she always had nice things and the police dept.verified some of the contents in a report. This is deceitful and this policy could never be collected with this approach .There has to be something I can do.Also they will not give me a copy of the policy.Help!! I am her sole heir and the executor of the estate. What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?

I'm not sure, outside of a court order, to have them provide you with a copy of the policy. However, it is absolutely normal for them to require PROOF of the stolen items. Have you filed a police report? I mean, how are they supposed to know that a DVD player, for example was taken, unless you can prove she had one? You don't have any pictures in which this furniture is in the background? That's what I provided when I had a claim. That's why they always suggest to inventory your items - so you know their value and so you can prove you owned the items.
