we purchased a 5th wheel and 3 days later it burned down. manuf is out of business. we have always been told you have 10 days to insure a vehicle but we found out that is not the case with 5th wheels. we filed a claim with our home owners insurance. the say they will only cover the personal content. after all is said and done they are willing to pay $4,600. We payed $6000 for the trailer which has a low blue book of $13,000. The insurance say they will only cover items that were not attached to the trailer, ie. bed, couch, etc. there was a wash machine/dryer combo that was plugged in and the water line attached. Because of this they say it was attached to the trailer so they will not cover that. Same situation with the microwave, because it was plugged in and screwed to the cabinet with 2 screws they will not cover it. We just want to get our money back, that is why we have insurance. Should I pursue this any further or just take what they have offered?
