What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? GA

Hello, Approximately 1988, someone stole British nationality documents from me in the UK, found his way to the US, and used my documents to effect a name change in order to attain a USA identity. I was not aware at the time(naivety, trusting a 'friend'). he subsequently asked questions regarding my mothers maiden name, and my daughter's date of birth. At this point many activities would have ensued, and I an interested in protecting my daughter in case of any financial or criminal implications my daughter is aged under 16. Would the US authorities be even interested in such a case? How would I proceed? Thanks
