What is the name of your state? OK

Hi Lana,

My question is, I am on my F1 right now and I applied H1b through a consultant for October 2007 approval. My H1b is pending as of now. My consultant went missing for the past few days and I have no contact with him right now. In this case what if my H1 gets approved? If I donot get to talk to him at all, will I be able to maintain my F1 or what I should be doing if my H1 gets approved?

Please let me know what I can do.

Thanks for your time

You sent me a private message with the same question but your account is configured not to receive private messages so my response could not be sent through.

Sorry Lana,

I think I did not understood the options very well for privatre message. I have enabled it now. You can answer here too..no problem.

You do not automatically go back to F-1 status. You would have to change to F-1 status in order to be in F-1 status after 10/1/07. Otherwise, you will be out of status. YOu should get another employer to file a H-1B petition on your behalf.

Please let me know if you have any additional questions or how I can be of further assistance to you in this matter.
