deportation??

What is the name of your state? Montana

An 18 year old who is here on a F-1 Visa and has a current and valid 1-20 was arrested and charged with felony assault. If he is found guilty is he automatically deported? What part of INS/Federal Regulations can I find informational about what constitutes a deportable act?

Felony assault is NOT GOOD. "Aggravated felony: Any alien who at any time after entry convicted of an aggravated Felony at any time after entry is deportable."

You're welcome, and keep in mind that the key word is conviction. A charge is not the same as a conviction.
