What is the name of your state? Florida

My fiance was detained on 9/17/07 and is being charged with a federal offense for having a fraudulent residency card. So far, I have been told that there is no doubt that he is going to get deported. He had court yesterday and am still waiting on the public defender to call me with the details as to what he was told in court. My question is this, can he voluntarily agree to be deported and avoid going to trial for the federal charges? He isn't claiming to be innocent, so why are they arranging a trial? How can I speed up the process of deportation so that he doesn't have to spend any more time in jail than is required?

In desperate need of advice, suggestions and etc.

Thanks
