Expired residency, warrant for arrest

What should a person do if his residency is expired and he has a warrant for aggravated sexual assault?

I don't know all the details. Just know this person has a warrant for his arrest for aggravated sexual assault from around 2006. He left the country and is now thinking of coming back to fix the problem.. he was a US resident. Residency expired in 2015. He is thinking of coming into the US illegally and then looking for a lawyer and turning himself in. But if he gets caught, he knows it will make his case worse. He doesn't know what he should do.

What sort of help is he going to get to fix his problem? Aggravated sexual assault? Maybe he should just stay out of this country. We have enough home grown rapists to deal with. We don't need one more.

He should consult an attorney BEFORE attempting any type of entry.

Also, his legal residency was terminated after he was outside the US for a year not on the date on the green card.

What does he hope to accomplish by reentering?

So he can call the police to come and get him, take him directly to jail, do not pass Go, do not collect $200.
