i am currently married to a dutch citizen and have been for nearly five years. we were married in the netherlands and we reside in north carolina. he is a permanant resident and has been employed with the same company since our return 5 years ago. if we legaly seperate and/or divorce how will this affect me financially? the house deed is in my name along with the title to one of our vehicles. otherwise all loans bills ect are in his name. how is property and debt to be divided. is he able to leave the country and return to the netherlands and leave me with the debt?
