What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? MA
An applicant (an adult, China) applies for green card based on US citizens' sibling. So this is family category 4. The applicant has been waiting for 10 years. Recently the applicant's parents obtained US citizenship. So here a few questions I like to ask.
1) Can the applicant switch to a new family base category (parents' US citizen status) and still keep the original priority date?
2) What form does he need to file in order to switch?
3) If he can switch, does he have to get financial sponsorship from his parents or can still use siblings' financial sponsorship.
Your advise is really appreciated.
