H-1B Visa as a Technician

What is the name of your state?
New Jersey
Hello,
I am an Electrical Engineer by qualification. I am presently working on my Practical training and trying to get an H-1b visa. My salary is too low for me to file under an Electrical Engineer in New Jersey ($35,000). Since I am attached to and supervised by an Electrical Engineer at work, my lawyer has suggested that I file under an Electrical Technician saying I would meet the salary requirements. This is the first lawyer telling me that, all other lawyers that I have contacted have not been helpful. So I would like to know if it is possible to get an H-1b as a technician or is there any other suitable job titile anyone can recommend?. Also how feasible would my application look to the INS given that I have my Masters degree in Electrical Engineering. This lawyer will cost me a lot and so I want to be sure of what I am doing and not just take his word for it.
Thank you all for your contribution.
