H1 with CoS to F1 question

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Arizona

I came to the US on an F1 visa for Masters. My F1 visa stamp is valid till June 2012. I graduated in May 2009, and started working with Company A on OPT. Company A filed my H1B with a Change of Status, and I am now on H1 from Oct 2009. I wish to start with a PhD in Jan 2010, and would have to go back on F1.

My problem is that my H1 is not stamped, and I want to go to India and come back on an F1 visa instead. Can I do this? If yes, will my employer have to cancel my H1B? What happens to my H1B status?

Do I need to stamp my F1 again (my passport already has one, will the Visa Office re stamp my passport)?
