Hi,

I have an Indian passport and have H1B visa for company A. RIght now, I am working in UK for company A.
My questions are:
1. Is it possible for me to transfer my H1B visa to company B (which is in US) while I am still in UK?
2. Do I have to get new stamping in my passport? If yes, then can I do it in UK or do I have to go back to India for that?

Many thanks

1. Yes

2. If the visa in your passport is still valid in terms of expiration date, then once the H-1B for company B is approved, you can enter the country with the visa for company A- you don’t have to do re-stamping yet. After the visa expires and you need to travel, you will need to get a new stamp for company B.
If you the visa in the passport for company A has expired or may expire soon, you may be able to do stamping in London since you are working there under a valid work visa, I assume. Of course, the final decision of whether or not to allow you to appear or do the interview there is the U.S. Consular officer in London.
