My OPT started this January 2007 and will expire next January (2008). I got my H1B approved. It is the advanced degree category. I want to cancel my H1B before it starts on Oct 1 2007. So I may roll back to my OPT status.
1. Should I have to ask my employer to cancel H1B visa or I can do it myself?
2. Will my OPT status continue if I cancel my H1B visa before my H1B starts?
3. If my employer cancels my H1B visa, if I find a job later, my H1B does not need a quota?
4. If I cannot roll back to OPT, how to go back to F1? My employer is a consulting company. If I am not on project and could not get pay checks after H1B starts, I am concerned about the legal status. So I wish to roll back to F1 status.
