marriage help

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? TX

My boyfriend and I are planning to get married. He is a recently graduated international student searching for a job. What are the legal requirements and procedures for us to get married, how much does it typically cost, and how soon can he begin working after we are married?

Thank you for your help. It is much appreciated.

Are you a US citizen?

If not, what is your status in the US?

As you've now identified yourself as a US citizen, the answer is pretty straight forward.
Your BF can go back to his international students office at school for some help with this.
You can go to uscis.gov and select from the drop down menus on the left. The one thing they don't make crystal clear there is that you will file ALL of the paperwork together in one packet (called concurrent filing or Adjustment of Status/AOS). YOU have a petition to file, HE has an application to file. There are numerous attachments to each, and attention to detail is as important as if your lives depend on it.

Budget about $2000 and expect about 6 months to the interview for the green card (both of you).

Don't be shy about seeking professional help if you're not detail oriented people.
