What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Colorado

Ok, a friend of mine got a petty offense a month a go (Check this link: (https://forum.freeadvice.com/drug-charges-28/petty-offense-585062.html#post3109542) for more detail).

So he has a court date in two weeks.
I was wondering would this effect his F-1 visa states? I mean would he be deported? Can he leave the US for vacation and return back with no problems? Can he apply for future visas?

Thanks,
V.

Why is it a possibility? What does not make any sense so far is that he got a ticket not arrested and he get a PETTY offense... That shouldn't even be a problem.
