    What is the name of your state? CA
    Hi, I am F-1 visa student, I am in USA about 2 years now. 5 month ago I had a baby. there is the question Can I get work permit based on economic hardship?

    NO, there is no such thing as a hardship based work permit. Are you still maintaining valid F-1 status? Are you married or in any relationship with the father of the child?

    Talk to your international student coordinator at your school. He/she will probably advice you to file for financial hardship, and if approved you should be allowed to work off campus also.
