Seeking History about 1950's Immigration Law

What is the name of your state? I live in New York, however My mother came from Germany. I am trying to figure out what the laws were in the 1950's that would have caused my Dad to tell my Mother that he could have her deported.

I know she lied about her age and about where she was born. But would that be enough to cause one to be send back to Germany. No I can't believe that. So there must be more.

I also know she was in a camp called DIWAG in 1942, but listed as a employee.

Anyone a history buff on the law from that time?

Thanks

Nancy

Why do you think it was anything to do with what the law was at the time?
On another board, someone posted this week that her husband is threatening to deport her.

US immigration law went through its biggest and most modern changes in 1952.
