| | | Status I was an exchanged student when I first came to U.S. And then I got adopted by an American family. I received my adoption decree before I turned 16. Now I am seventeen, and still don't know what my status in U.S is? I tried to get social security number twice, but the results were I got deny from social security office. Some of my friends say that I am eligible to become U.S citizenship (Got adopted before 16, both my adopted parents are U.S citizens, I have lived in U.S for 2 years). But I don't know what to do right now to become U.S citizenship. I hear something about filling out form I-130. I wonder if there is another form I have to fill. Some one help me!!! I need some advice about this. |

What reason were you given when your SS number application was denied?

I gave them my birth certificate, but it was not a prove of my U.S citizenship. Do you know what form I should fill out to apply for U.S citizenship? |

| | | You are still a minor. Why are your adoptive parents not assisting you?
I suggest that you go to your school counselor and ask for a referral to an agency to assist you and your parents in completing the necessary paperwork. |

You should not try to do this yourself. If you don't want to ask your parents, take candg's advice. | |
