status of new born child to green card holders

What is the name of your state? Massachusetts

My wife is pregnant and currently in India visiting family. Unfortunately because of her health she cannot travel back to US for her delivery and she would have to deliver the child in India. Both my wife and I are green card holders and have green card since Feb 2002.

I was wondering after the child is born India what kind of options do I have to bring him/her to US along with my wife and what time frame am I looking at?

Thanks a lot for the help.

The search function is down at uscis.gov so I can't find you a link. The gist of it is that the child must come to the US with the mother on mom's FIRST trip back to the US. The child will get PR status at entry.

Have you thought about becoming US citizens? I know you will want to look into that; India has some particular dual-citizen rules (believe youi'll have to choose one or the other).

If I can dig up a link for you about the birth in India, I'll post it.
