What is the name of your state? California

I am US permanent resident
In 1998 I was arested for petty theft, pled no contest and was convicted of infraction. I paid fine, no jail, no community servce, no probation.
Is there a way to expange the record so I do not have to disclose it on my citizenship application?
What impact this incident might have on my citizenship application?
I appreciate your advice. Thank you.

Q: Is there a way to expange the record so I do not have to disclose it on my citizenship application?

A: No.

Q: What impact this incident might have on my citizenship application?

A: If it truly was an infraction, then it is not a crime but more like a traffic ticket. I do not think it will matter.

BUT

I am not an immigration lawyer. Stand by for further opinions.
