What is the name of your state? California

My boyfriend is here in CA (usa) on a legal work visa. He is from india. He has been here for 3 years working and has 3 more years on his work visa here. We recently met each other after knowing each other on net for 2 years. He was not in CA til recently. We want to marry in a few months. What do him and I need to do before and after marriage with INS for him to become legal in usa?

thank you
Kavi

are you a US Citizen?
has he got a criminal record in this or any other country?
the process is simple to marry but the paperwork costs a lot of money to file...up to $1000 in fees alone to apply for a green card-permanant residency.
