What is the name of your state? SC

Often I hear prospective employers ask about work status, like H1, Greencard, Citizen, etc. What'd you call one who's awaiting pending I485 for 5+ years? It's not company sponsored and all he's got is an EAD which he renews annually! Thanks.

That's what it is then--pending applicant for adjustment of status.
