My step father had a fatal accident two weeks ago. My mother worked at the same company as my step dad. The owner of the company promised my step dad that he would take care of my mom if anything ever happened to him. Well my mom just found out that the owner has taken away her pay check from the last two weeks saying she doesn't get any bereavement pay. My mom works 30 hours a week and really needs this money. Does the owner have a right not to pay my mom something for the death of her spouse?
