Why would the EEOC be willing to file charges against an employer if they are not sure the one that filed a complaint is even covered by the ADA? I received a call from the EEOC today.
They said they were filing 5 charges against my employer. They also told me that I might not even be covered by the ADA. If it is likely that I am not, what would have caused them to be willing to file 5 charges and attempt to set up mediation with my employer? I am perplexed at this situation because I was of the understanding that if the EEOC didn't think a complaint was valid, they would dismiss it without action.
