I worked for a company for a year. The General Manager was the same age as my daughter and during the application process I was told I was just a week or two too late because they filled the position and actually the regional manager made a joke about being desperate. So, I took a lesser management position with being told the manager would only be here a year and I would be able to move up.

It has been like working for Drama Daycare.

The managers wife has issues and has made several public comments online about physically hurting the employees that work here.

The other manager is 34 and male. He “friended” all the employees that worked here, however he had quite an extensive porn collection that was also public, giving these kids full access.

He also had a friend of his come in the store. His friend would make racial remarks to me. The manager would put his hand over his mouth because he was laughing. When the video was watched, and he was asked why he put his hand over his mouth he said he had to “sneeze”.

There’s a board that clearly states if you can’t resolve an issue, there’s a list of other higher up people to call, which I did.

I was yelled at by my regional manager for “going over her head”. Well, if she would have addressed the issue, I wouldn’t have had to.

When I found the manager was friending the 16 year old girls and any other minors exposing them to his page and the store managers wife making public online threats, I informed the director of loss prevention. He verified this from his home computer and was keeping it quiet so I could tell the regional manager. Meanwhile, he was informing the vice president of what was going on.

On August 8th the regional manager came to the store, a 22 year old newly appointed manager told her I called her a “bitch”. I said I did not and I had to write out a statement defending something I never said. Plus, I am not going to say anything like that to a personal high school friend of the general manager and his wife. While I was writing out the statement, the regional manager said she’d be right back. I looked into the security camera and saw her talking to the general manager (his wife was the one that made the threats, he’s friends with the 34 year old friending the minor kids, and friends with the 22 year old that is coming up with these false allegations). I thought this was a poor decision on her part to basically tell the people involved.

Meanwhile, I had someone from home watching their social media sites. Right after she talked to the general manager, she took my statement and left. I was sent on break right away which was odd because I hadn’t even been there 90 minutes and never sent on a break that fast.

Then I find out, all the people in question deleted their accounts shortly after my break. Wow, what’s the coincidence of that??? I’m assuming the regional manager told him to send me on break, call the people involved and tell them to delete their accounts. I let the general manager know Friday after I punched out, that if the regional manager can’t find what we talked about, I have copies. The regional manager called me the next morning being all nice asking how I’m doing! I said, I’ve worked here a year and you’ve never called to ask me how I’m doing. What do you want? The regional manager said, I heard you have copies? I said, I don’t personally, but the person I know does.

I worked that weekend, but not with the 22 year old that made the false accusations. I was off Monday, and sent copies of all information and details of everything going on to the top officials at the corporate office. I went to work Tuesday, just mainly kept to myself and any chit chat strictly business. By noon, the ambulance had come because I was having severe chest pain due to all the drama, lies, stress and threats from the general managers wife that she was going to hurt people at the store on many occasions, plus a lot more unstable comments on stalking, etc. The stress of constantly being accused by kids of saying some outlandish stuff, I’m a grandpa for crying out loud!

The ambulance took me to one hospital, and I found out that I had to have double bypass open heart surgery.

I was released from the hospital on Saturday, August 16th with a return to work notice. When I brought this in, I was taken in the office and fired as it seemed when I was in the hospital the same 22 year old kid made another comment saying I made a derogatory remark about the regional manager, again!

I was given no papers. Just told I would be getting a letter from HR.

This is just the tip of all the kid drama that went on there.

I was told this seems like a good suit for retaliation. Any thoughts? And please remember there’s a lot more, just jotted some main issues.
