homosexual jokes

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Indiana
My supervisor is making homosexual jokes about the things I am doing and / or eating. At first I played it down as a joke but they have become more frequent. The worst part about this is he as made these comments in front of customers. I have asked him to stop, but to no avail.
He also makes jokes about a medical condition I have stemming from prostate cancer operation I had over a year ago.

any help?

Not sure what your condition from the prostate cancer situation is but, as a PC survivor (so far) myself, I do know what the complications can be and since I do experience one of them myself, I can empathize.

I speak openly about my problems and have no problems doing so but if your problem happens to be the same as mine and you would like to hear my take and responses to such "criticisms" from others, feel free to PM me so as to keep yours relatively private.

as well, concerning PC, if you would like some direction to a support group, I would be more than happy to provide that direction as well.

well, first of all, are you homosexual or is he just implying you are? Maybe he hopes you are because he wants you. Or do u think his intention is to embarass you? Have you tried asking him about it. Be assertive. Let him know that it's inappropriate and you would like it to stop. Maybe it can be resolved easily just by talking to him.

It is sexual harassment anyway and if you don't assert yourself, you will get walked on. Talk to him. What he's doing is messed up.

Always try to resolve the situation at the local most immediate level first. This will really help your case if you do have to take it higher. Make sure he can't say he had no idea he was offending you.

In other words, tell him to back off, that you don't consider these jokes funny or acceptable, in a polite and professional and very businesslike way, of course. Whether you are gay or not, it's not acceptable. Do not engage in any of it back to him or do anything inappropriate yourself. Do you have higher ups in your employment situation that you can discuss this with if this supervisor does not take the hint or uses what you have said to escalate the level of this behavior?

Always document, as in keep note of when he said what, and when you have told him this is not appropriate, and when you talk with his supervisor, have this record. Sometimes, acting as though you know your rights and are willing to go further with something is all that is needed to stimulate the employer to do much better, put a lid on this supervisor.

No I'm not homosexual and as far as I know he isn't either. But the uneasiness that he has caused (from telling cust.) is getting out of hand.
I'm becoming the blunt of these jokes. I have asked him twice to stop and I guess third time is charm. I hate to see him lose his job(mostly for his family), but these are getting out of hand..

Um, you do realize, don't you, that under no law is the employer required to fire him for this?
