Relgion discrimination? The finance firm I work in, in Maryland just started a new vacation/sicktime policy. All of our sick/personal/vacation days are counted together. Should a Jewish religious holiday that is not observed as a company holiday be counted as a sick/personal/vacation day? Or should this be an excused absence? I feel that I should be able to miss work for a holy holiday without pay, without it cutting into my sick/personal/vacation time. |

| The system your employer is going to is actually MORE fair, because it means everyone of every religion who wants to take a day that is not a company holiday, will have to take it from the same bank. There is nothing whatsoever illegal about what they are doing. |
