What is the name of your state? Illinois

I have a 14 year old son that refuses to go to school. He is under the guardianship of his maternal grandparents. I have received a court summons informing me that he will be adjudged a ward of the court. As of right now, I pay child support and carry health insurance. My questions are, Will I still be financially responsible for him? and Would it be advisable to retain my own attorney?
