What is the name of your state? Minnesota

An alcoholic mother is collecting child support from an out of state father. The father believes his son (age 16) is living in an apartment on his own. The father wants to prove to the court that his son is living on his own. What can the father do?

are you looking from the point that you would like your son to come live with you instead? is it that mom may be just pocketing the money and son is fending for himself? what are your intentions?

Let's assume three intentions on behalf of the father: 1) gain full custody of the son. 2) force the mother to get help. 3) reduce or eliminate child support.

The father reported the matter to a child services agency. The agency talked with the mother and the son. The mother (not wanting to loose child support) and the son (wanting to live on his own) denied the arrangement.
