What is the name of your state? Florida

My neice is 17 and wants to move out of her home. My sister is a good mother, however, her daughter feels that there are too many restirctions on her life. She is not asking for permission, rather, just telling her Mom that is what she is going to do. What are the problems my sister will have if the daughter leaves and gets into trouble?

So why is your sister permitting this to happen? At the age of 17, your niece does not get to say, I'm walking out, and walk out. If her mother says, no, it's still no. So tell your sister to grow a backbone and tell her kid to sit down and shut up.

Fortunately, my sister does have a backbone. Unfortunately, she is a single parent that supports her daughter and is not with her 24/7. Knowing what the niece says, and, knowing that there is not an armed guard to contain her in their home, telling her NO probably will go in one ear and out the other. Sounds good, but is not realistic.
