What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Texas

21 dating a 16 year old in Texas. We know it's illegal to have sex until she's 17 because that's the age of consent here. But I lied to her mom about my age and now she wants to take legal action against me. We have not had sex.

What can she do to me?

Scare you enough to leave her child alone until she (the child) reaches 18.

Realistically, she's more likely to get a restraining order against you than anything else.

A better question is: What's wrong with you that you have to date a child? Can't you get any women your own age?

A MAN doesn't fool around with children.

What her mother can do is get a restraining order against you. When you violate you go to jail, where you belong and where you'll find out what it's like to be on the receiving end of older men's attentions.

And believe me, she can do a LOT to ensure that her daughter has no contact with you at all. It will be 100% legal and the daughter will not like it one bit.

Let's start with having the door to her bedroom removed, all her electronics taken away, computer use only under supervision and only for school work, windows alarmed, escorted to and from school every day, no after school activities or visits to friends...

How am I doing so far?

We did this with our daughter 20+ years ago when she was 15. My wife even went to class with her for a week. It was VERY effective.
