Citation for Underage Drinking

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Georgia

Ok so here's the dealio:

I'm 20, I was out with some friends at a party. Cops showed up, busted the party (very large) and had everyone wait in a room, where they began separating us. Everyone who was 21 was allowed to leave. Anyone who didn't have an ID was allowed to leave. That left the minors. They asked us if we had consumed anything, and I was honest with them and told them I had a beer (not at that party, however). They then asked for our ID's, and said we would be receiving a citation. Several minutes passed as the talked, and then they returned our ID's and asked us to go home after giving us a talk about being responsible, etc.

So, my question is: Am I actually being charged with something? I did not receive any paperwork, I didn't sign anything, but they did have my ID in possession at one point (and thus my home address, etc) so should I be expecting something in the mail or was the citation thing a "scare" tactic? I was going to go talk to the police station but I have nothing to bring to them because nothing was given to me and I never saw a physical "citation" at any point.

Thanks for the help,

-Guilliaume

that is crazy...they let the people who were 21 just leave? They should have been arrested for providing alcohol to minors. And if you didn't have an id they just let you leave? Are you sure these were really cops? Maybe it was just someone playing a joke? I'd say you are in the clear....just hope you didn't let that cop frisk you too much...

Yeah, it was super disorganized.

I don't know if anyone knows what the deal is with paperwork, but shouldn't I have received SOMETHING from them? Otherwise -- what is the point? They could mark ANYTHING down and say I was guilty when I didn't even see what my citation was accusing me of.

They were DEFF. cops, btw. No doubt.
