hi my daughter is 15 she got arrested for petty theft and the juvenile detention said she needs to go to teen court and probbably just has to do courses and community service does that mean once she completes her requirements charges will be dropped? she stole from a retail store (bealls) also she is a first time offendor and a straight A student

Juvenile records are not automatically sealed in Florida. Did she actually get fingerprinted?

For being a straight A student, she was sure stupid. Quite frankly, she needs to complete all requirements, stay out of trouble and file for her record to be sealed/expunged as soon as she can. Being 15, she may have severely impacted her employment options during high school -- most retail places will NOT hire her and she may also have issues with college acceptances. Was she appointed counsel? Did you hire counsel for her? Did she request a diversion program or just plead guilty?
