Grandson wants to live with me

Michigan
My 15-yr old grandson's mother receives social security benefits for my grandson. His father was my son who died 14 years ago.
My grandson does not want to live with his mother because she abuses alcohol and has never worked, and uses his social security to live on with her boyfriend. She says she wants to make him stay at her place, but my daughter and I have been helping to raise him since he was born.
What rights does my grandson have? How can I help him?

Gson has to stay with mom if she says he has to.

you can wait till he is 18 to take him in

he has the right to obey his mom

you can help by butting out. You can sympathize with GS but thats about it.

Mom is the Boss. <-period. boss of the money, boss of the time, boss of the kid, she is THE BOSS.
