I want to leave home, and I'm only 17. I'm going to stay in school, plus i have a job and i would be able to move in with another family member.
Is it legal for me to just leave and if not what do i need to do in order to leave?

You need to turn 18 or be emancipated. If you were even somehow eligible for the latter (my guess is you're not), by the time it came to fruition the former will have occurred. You've waited 17 years, you can hold out a little longer.
