What is the name of your What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? il Hi my grandson was raped by a officer, while being held in detention for trespassing !! However, he has become mentally unstable since being released from jail, and can not speak on the matter . Currently he is receiving help as a inpatient, thus a physical examination was done. However this was told to us prior and we took him to another hospital first but to no avail the rape crisis nurse, did not believe he was raped. Therefore, they did not get any physical evidence regarding his testimony. What is the next step now since the doctors have concluded he has been sexually assaulted ?https://forum.freeadvice.com/images/smilies/mad.gif

Did your grandson report the rape to the police and/or did the doctors who examined your grandson report the sexual assault (as they are mandated to do)? The police will investigate.

You say no physical evidence of the assault exists. On what did the doctors base their conclusion that your grandson was sexually assaulted?

Most jails/prisons have cameras set up throughout the facilities. Is there video evidence of the sexual assault on your grandson?

It was Confirmed !!

He reported it to a friend of the family, afterwards We took him to a hospital, however they did not report, it because they did not believe a rape took place so no further investigation was made, because he became embarrassed I am sure during the questioning thus they said they wouldn't go any further.
2 weeks later the school believed something was wrong with him, and took him to a different hospital . Which went forth after believing his behaviorism showed a rape might have taken place!!!! A physical examination was performed, and evidence of sexual assault: said was in fact true.:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

Okay. So the mandated reporters (the school and the hospital) reported the sexual assault to the police.

The police will investigate. They will check to see if there is video evidence from the facility.

While the investigation is ongoing, your grandson should seek out rape counseling in his area.

Thank You very much especially about the video cameras
You're welcome, friend1234.

In response to the federal Prison Rape Elimination Act of 2003, many jails and prisons have now installed cameras in areas of the jails and prisons where prisoners have been found most vulnerable. The video surveillance has helped reduce the number of reports by prisoners of abuse and assault by other prisoners and by prison staff.

Here is a link to Programs and Family Services available in Illinois that you and your grandson might find helpful: https://www.illinois.gov/idoc/programs/Pages/PrisonRapeEliminationActof2003.aspx

I hope your grandson's hospitalization can help him recover.
