That depends ... how old is the child? Where did he or she possibly go? Why did he or she leave?

TX is one of two states I know of that effectively allows 17 year olds to stay gone if they runaway ... a loophole in the law that does not allow the police to take them in to custody. This might have been hanged in the last year, but i do not think so.
