What is the name of your state? TX
At time of pregnancy girl 15 ,boy 16. Boy now 17. Baby was going to be adopted . Now Mom wants to keep baby. Has asked father to give up his rights. He does not want to do this. He was ok with the adoption because he knew it was best for child. Teen boy lives with retired grandmother and very limited budget. We don't live in same county baby will be born. Question.....Can he get free legal aid. He still attends high school. Do we apply in our county or county where baby will be born. We realize at this point we have no say in the baby. But once it is born will things change . He needs someone to advise him. If the mother keeps the baby he wants to be a part of the childs life and knows he will have to help support baby. Does he have any rights......Thanks for any help

Call the local bar association in the County where the baby will be born. In order to have rights the boy will have to file to establish paternity (ask for court ordered DNA test, etc. . . ), visitation and child support. Can file now, but tests won't be conducted until the baby is born. He has no rights until something is filed.
