What is the name of your state? IL

I am 16 years old and my boyfriend is 19. We have been together for over a year now with no complaints from my mom, but even though she is ok with it I was wondering the legal age is in IL. I've been told 17, and I have been told 16 and I am not quite sure which one to believe. Someone please reply and let me know. Thanks
